BARNACLE BAY

INSPIRATION BEHIND THIS ARTWORK…

Inspired by a road trip in Tasmania where I was travelling down the east coast from Dolphin Sands, and looking out across the bay toward Freycinet National Park. This artwork captures the breathtaking beauty and tranquillity of the coastline. As I wandered along the shoreline, I was fascinated by the abundance of shells and limpets blanketing the sand and rocks, inspiring the layered dot textures woven throughout the piece. Flowing bands of blue mirror the movement of the water and surrounding landscape, while the intricate detailing reflects the natural patterns and textures left behind by the ocean. I wanted this artwork to embody the peaceful atmosphere and sense of wonder I felt while exploring this incredible part of Tasmania.
