INSPIRATION BEHIND THIS ARTWORK…

Bayou was inspired by the peaceful, winding beauty of southern bayous, capturing the flowing movement of waterways weaving gently through the landscape. This artwork actually came to me as a vision multiple times over a number of weeks, and each time I could see the soft curves, layered waterways, and tranquil colour palette so clearly that I knew I had to bring it to life on canvas. Through calming blues and greens, intricate dot textures, and fluid organic forms, I wanted to reflect the quiet rhythm and serenity found within nature. The detailed pointillism creates a sense of movement and depth, like sunlight dancing across still water surrounded by lush wetlands, inviting a feeling of calm, connection, and peaceful escape.
